Beginning Practice

The New Orleans Zen Temple provides beginner lessons for Zazen practice once per month. Lessons provide instruction on posture, breathing, and focus of zazen, and on the etiquette and ceremony of the dojo. It is important to receive proper instruction before participating in the scheduled zazen sessions.

How to apply for Orientation:

1.) Please find out our next orientation date by e-mailing us at info@nozt.org

2.) Download and print our pdf form and fill it out.

3.) Mail in the form with a $35 donation to 748 Camp St. New Orleans, La 70130

or Register in person at the temple on Tuesday afternoons at 6pm.

WE CAN ONLY ACCOMMODATE UP TO 8 PEOPLE PER MONTH SO PLEASE REGISTER EARLY!

Zazen is not an easy practice. Especially in the beginning, it requires effort and determination. But it is not difficult either. Through patient, daily repetition, anyone can practice Zen.
