The American Zen Association provides oversight and support to the New Orleans Zen Temple and other dojos in the region, including those in Mississippi and Alabama. The AZA also participates in the publishing of rare and important english-language texts from teachers in the lineage.

The AZA became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 1984, and all donations are tax-deductible as permitted by law. The Support page provides different ways to contribute to current programs and the long-term health of the organization.
